26 February 2016 Pollinators vital to our food supply under threat

This is one more report confirming the fact that pollinators are declining and that it threatens our food security, worldwide. This report written by the IPBES (International Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) confirms once more what beekeepers and NGO's have been claiming for 20 years: neonicotinoids are one of the main threat to pollinators, including wild pollinators. It is surprising to observe that the working group reached this conclusion despite the presence of two authors employed by the pesticide industry (Helen Thompson, Syngenta and Christian Maus, Bayer). The document is not fully published yet, we will then track signs of the industry's influence when it is made available.
